Dear Honored Guest,
The Fourth Degree Knights of Columbus is an international Catholic men’s charitable 501(c)(8) service organization with our assembly (chapter) located in Kernersville, NC. Our driving principle is Patriotism with most of our charitable work going to support our Military Servicemen and women.
As one of our major patriotic activities, we will be conducting a Flag Retirement Ceremony on Saturday, June 16th at 10:00 AM. Worn and faded American Flags will be formally retired and burned in compliance with US Code title 36. The ceremony lasts from 60 to 90 minutes with refreshments following the event.
I would like to invite you to attend this solemn, yet stirring ceremony. It is an event well-suited to instill a lesson of patriotism, especially in our younger citizens. With stirring music, a blazing fire, uniformed participants, and an opportunity for each guest to place a flag on the pyre, it will be certain to capture the attention of all in attendance.
In the past we have drawn over 100 guests including representatives from the police and fire departments, civic groups, scouts, veterans, and the general public. Please plan to attend and invite your family and friends to attend as well.
